Thank you for your interest in our club.

You and your child should learn as much as you can about Pony Club before considering joining the club.

First, please read our Parent's Guide about our club. The club is a family commitment.

Also, check out our website and the National Pony Club website (USPC). They'll give you a good overview of the club and the breadth of activities and commitment.

Finally -- if you're still interested -- we'd love to have you observe a meeting to see if you might like it. A meeting consists of a mounted lesson, dismounted lesson covering horse management topics, and finally doing chores around the stables. The club meets on the 2nd & 4th Sundays 10-12pm, or thereabouts, from September through June.

Please let me know in advance if you would like to visit to make sure the club will be convening that week and so that I can make arrangements for you to attend.

We want to be sure that any potential member is a good fit for our club before they join. One reason is that while the club fees are nominal for what is provided, it would be a shame to pay and then have your child lose interest. Fees are non-refundable.

New member fees for 2009/10 are $300.
($95.00 to USPC, $35.00 Mid Cal, $ 170.00  CHPC)

Also, parents really do have to be willing to volunteer. There is a ton of work that generally falls on the shoulders of a handful of people. The rest of us, however, must be willing to step up and help as well.

Kids that join Pony Club are -- for the most part -- horse nuts. They typically have been taking riding lessons for more than a year. The kids independently study manuals and books on their own and undergo ratings tests as they progress through Pony Club.

So again, if you're interested in joining our Pony Club, please contact me for more information.   Eugenie Broussard - RHPC Membership Coordinator
